Black Pussy Willow

This species of willow is known for its jet-black flowers, which appear in early spring. Its male blooms also have red anthers (part of their reproductive system), which slowly turn soft yellow with pollen. In Conservatory Garden, black pussy willows can be found on the Woodland Slope.
