Volleyball

Volleyball courts for pickup games are available at two locations in Central Park. There are two asphalt courts and two sand courts to the east of Sheep Meadow, and two asphalt courts northeast of the Great Lawn.

Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to bring your own ball. For play on asphalt courts, you'll also need to bring your own net.

A court permit from NYC Parks is required for tournaments and special events.

The Conservancy ensures sand volleyball courts are full enough for play and removes leaves, trash, and other debris. We also grate the sand—or level it—once a year.
