Ruth and Arthur Smadbeck-Heckscher East Playground

Ruth and Arthur Smadbeck-Heckscher East Playground, found just south of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is designed to delight preschoolers.
Young visitors can enjoy custom sandboxes and an accessible sand table, a climber, a slide, balancers, and a water spray feature.
Also popular is the charming Group of Bears sculpture, crafted by artist Paul Manship, found on a platform just outside the entrance. The playground is also referred to as the Three Bears Playground.
