Lilac

Lilacs are native to the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, where they grow on rocky hills. They are deciduous shrubs or small trees, ranging in size from two to 10 meters, with flowers that range in color from white to pinks, purples and even blues. On a warm day, their fragrance fills the air of the Conservatory Garden. You can find this bloom in the North Garden, and they form a ring around the South Garden.
