Sweetgum

The sweetgum is a shade and ornamental tree, and there are more than 100 sweetgums in Central Park. It was likely growing wild in the area before the Park's construction. It features stunning fall foliage with hues of yellow, orange, red, and purple. A cluster of sweetgums can be found just south of the Blockhouse.
